Mechanical Completion Achieved at McNulty FCS

Pipemech Pty Ltd reach yet another milestone on the QCLNG Project, completing the McNulty FCS , on time and under budget!

On 31 May MC (Mechanical Completion) was achieved at McNulty FCS (Field Compressor Station), part of the QCLNG project Pipemech have been engaged on by Thiess to undertake the SMP (Structural, Mechanical and Piping) elements of its construction.

The target of MC was achieved on time and under budget by the McNulty FCS team lead by Ray Hansen, Pipemech’s Site Manager.

‘Health and Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule performance have all been impressive’ commented Pipemech’s General Manager Simon Ahearn.

Over 42,000 man-hours have been worked at McNulty FCS to date with no Lost Time or Recordable Injuries or Incidents, helping to maintain Pipemech’s LTIFR and TRIFR of 0 across all of its operations.

Pipemech’s Managing Director Rohan Ackroyd also passed on his congratulations to Ray and his team saying ‘I recall being at the McNulty FC approximately 10 weeks ago and thinking to myself that you have set yourself a tough goal to achieve MC on the 31 May. You have managed the project as usual in the professional way that you operate. No doubt you were set some challenges along the way however you have overcome them to obtain a great result.’

Pipemech started work at McNulty FCS on 5 November 2013 prior to receiving the full SMP scope award from Thiess on 18 February 2014. MC was achieved 15 weeks later with no category A punchlist items.
